Most kids crave pets while lacking the maturity needed to handle the many responsibilities that go with owning a pet. Cepia LLC, the renowned makers of the Power Puff Girls action figures, has come up with what they claim as being the perfect answer to this dilemma: Zhu Zhu Pets.
These furry toys derive their name from the Chinese word for ‘little pigs’. They are battery run hamsters, devised to simulate real hamsters, and provide your kids with years of enjoyment, as they take care of and play with their pets. The makers of Zhu Zhu Pets have invested the hamsters with unique personalities, identifiable by their different names: Patches, Chunk, Num Nums, Mr. Squiggles and Pipsqueak.
The toy hamsters also have the ability to say the odd word or two, as they squeak around, much like a live pet, about the house. Alternatively cooing and purring, or exploring their habitat and responding to stimuli, the pets are programmed to play in either a ‘nurturing’ or an ‘adventure’ mode. When they are not playing, the pets revert to a sleep mode.
