One thing to realize is, that although high quality ferret food is more expensive, ferrets eat a very small amount, so that it is a negligible expense.

Treats should be given sparingly to your ferret, perhaps a bit of meat or hard boiled egg. Avoid fruits they are high in sugar, candy, dairy products such as ice cream and milk, nuts and nut products; these products will cause nutritional problems.
