Electronic dog training collars provide dog owners with a safe and effective alternative to traditionally long and lengthy dog obedience training. But, while an electronic shock collar can certainly help to get your dog properly trained, they should not be used indiscriminately or as tools of torture.
Be gentle, yet firm, with your pet or sport dog when using one of these dog training collars. You should only use the “shock” mode when absolutely necessary.
Train your pet to know what you expect him or her to do by using the warning beeps or tones, and gentle shock stimulation at first. Only increase the stimulation level when necessary.
The ultimate goal here is to train your pet to behave by getting him to recognize the warning tones, and not by constantly shocking him. He will quickly learn what the warning tones mean, and the need to apply shock stimulation should diminish. Once your pet is sufficiently trained, you will be able to remove the dog shock collar.
