I thought if I could get someone to come out to the house and do a professional job, then maybe the ridiculous smell would be banished forever. Soon enough we located a residential cleaning service, and they were prompt about taking care of our problem. When they were finished, the carpet looked as good as new.

Seagrass Carpets
It even sounds romantic, exotic, inviting-to say the phrase: seagrass carpets. Kind of invokes images of underwater cool greens and blues and blue-greens, calm waters, dark surroundings, doesn't it? Well it at least implies natural.
Seagrass carpets are designed and made by keeping their natural colors-which range through the browns, grays, light silverfish colors, and tans. These colors show little of the equally natural dirt tracked in, and make for good patio, porch, mudroom, or entryway rugs. The seagrass carpets are also good for these and other areas for reasons besides their camouflaging colors. They are exceptionally durable and enduring, bearing up quite well under heavy amounts of foot traffic, sweeping, vacuuming, and beating (if you still beat the dust out of your rugs, that is). Further, it is virtually stain-resistant, as the fibers are insoluble, or impermeable.which is why they are rarely dyed (the dye won't take) and are left in their lovely natural tones and shades.
Also distinctive about seagrass carpets is their renowned sheen: they have a glimmering shine that recalls for many of us the childhood hours spent in the fields, the wind whipping the grass blades to reveal their shimmery undersides.
Seagrass carpets are made from the natural fiber that is cultivated in great
paddies on the wetlands and coasts of India, China, and elsewhere. As one
floor covering vendor tells it, during the growing season, the paddies are "flooded with sea water." (ezcarpets.uk) The rugs are the least expensive to make and therefore are inexpensive to purchase. They are the more natural and some of the most versatile of floor coverings, and can have a range of visual appeal with patterns of weave including the "seashore" weave (which is rowed fibers with alternating fiber tie downs); the "sea basket" (with its fibers thatched in squares); and "sea bass," "sea breeze," and "seashell" designs
(which are symmetrical versions of zigzag-or herringbone-style--meshes).
The more indoor, in the dining room or living room styles of seagrass carpets are border-stitched with a leather, tapestry, wool, or cotton lip or rim (binding), and have a reinforced backing, or padding, for traction and longer life. The backing is commonly made of jute, which is adhered with natural, chemical-free adhesive, or a latex backing.
Since most seagrass carpets are not chemically-treated with "stain-resistant" materials,
the floor coverings not only look and feel natural, fitting in with any number
of motifs, but they are, essentially, as close to the natural state area rugs
can get. As good as being there, in those growing grasses, under sea water
green and blue, if you will.
Steam Clean Carpets
It's sometimes difficult to clean a carpet by just blotting and scrubbing stains
out. Therefore, many people decide to steam clean carpets whenever major cleaning
is required. But is it safe to steam clean carpets? Will all that excess water
cause molding? What about any harmful chemicals that might be used in the solutions
that are used to steam clean carpets?
The good news is that having your carpets cleaned with this method is nothing
to worry about-provided you go with a good, trustworthy company for your steam
clean carpet needs. Conscientious cleaners will make sure that no harmful chemicals
are used in steam cleaning, and that the carpet will be safe for people and pets.
While some non-harmful chemicals may be used, the majority of the cleaning is
done by heated water. This further ensures household protection.
As far as mold goes there a few different factors that can lead to build up:
dark conditions, any organic food source, moisture that concentrates for over
48 hours, stagnant air, and an average temperature between 70 and 90 degrees.
How does steam cleaning your carpets factor into this? When you steam clean carpets,
you are using high vacuum suction that removes both soil and water. This makes
the carpet almost completely dry by the time the job is finished. Mold will not
be an issue because it requires a lot of moisture to grow. Steam clean carpets
are not only clean, they are not only mold-free they are also free of bacteria
and mites. In order to get your money's worth, however, you will need to make
sure the company you're dealing with is professional, follows industry standards
and can give you peace of mind. Most contacts for carpet cleaning companies can
verify how they clean their carpets, and any issues of mold or harmful chemicals
that might come up.
When you consider the benefits of having it done, it's easy to see that it is
a reasonable expense. For 3 bedrooms, the price to steam clean carpets will run
between $70 and $100.00 depending on the total size. If you would rather purchase
your own device, and steam clean carpets yourself, commercial products usually

able to sell your house for. Do your homework first and know
what houses in your area are selling for.
Many times it will seem that when you are preparing to move,
you are finally getting around to all of the home repairs that

or rooms that are looking shabby, replace any stained carpet,

see how much you spent for that fancy deck or for remodeling

not after you start packing. Clean out the attic and basements

you aren't prepared.
Simple Will - don't give it all to your pets!

Of course, death is something people don't like to even talk about even though it is something everyone should think about at some point in time. If you have children, you definitely want to think about what will happen to your children if something tragic should happen to you. Unfortunately, death is a part of life and while no one really can be prepared for a tragic and untimely death, it happens to families every single day. Having a simple will can provide a great deal of ease and comfort to your family. There are lots of ways to go about having a simple will that can all be catered to your specific family and needs. If you have investments, savings and more money than the average citizen, you may want to do a will through your attorney. That way, nothing will be overlooked and all of the details will be taken care of smoothly and without any
complications. However, if you don't have millions to leave to your family, you can make a simple will on your own without spending lots of fees on attorneys.
All you have to do is spend a few moments in front of your computer
and search the internet. You will find lots of companies and websites
that are more than willing to sell you legal forms that can suit
all of your needs. Most of them are very reasonably priced, just
make sure that you are purchasing legal forms that will be valid
in your particular state. There are some stores, such as Staples,
that sells legal forms as well. Buying those forms locally is actually
a good idea; at least you know that they are valid for your particular
state. In a simple will, you simply need to verbalize your final
wishes. Who will be the guardian of your children if you're no
longer alive? Who will you leave your assets and earnings to? A
simple will can even document your wishes for what will happen
to your pets should the need arise to find them a new home.

can express your final wishes for almost anything you can imagine
in your will. Also, in thinking about your final wishes, you may have the opportunity to create a living will. That is something that you want to put a great amount of thought into and tell others in your family as to what your wishes are in regards to that situation. And most importantly, make sure that someone in your family or circle of friends knows that you have a simple will and where to find it. Remember, a will is only valid if someone knows that it exists. As unpleasant as it may be, put some thought into what you want in your final simple will. After it is written, take some time to think about how precious your life truly is and enjoy it.
Speaker Covers - dogs and cats like to damage them!

I love my cats, but they are wrecking our speaker covers. For
some reason they ignore everything we have bought for them to
scratch on. They seem to prefer the carpet or the speakers when
they have the urge to scratch something. They have done a lot
of damage, and I don't know what to do with them. I refuse to
get a cat de-clawed, so I am going to have to find a way to keep
them from scratching where they are not supposed to be.
The speaker covers we have are made of material, and perhaps that is the
problem. They are, however, some of the best you can buy, and the speakers
themselves are very expensive. My husband will skimp on a lot of things,
but he won't skimp on the speakers. The speaker covers are going to have
to be replaced, though I'm not sure I want to get the same kind that we already
have. I may not have a choice though, because they are made the way they
are for a reason.
The most important aspect of speaker covers is indeed the material. It is
there to keep the dust out of the speaker while still allowing air to flow
freely in and out of the cover to get a good sound. If the speaker covers
where made of plastic, the cats would stop scratching them, and the dust
would stay out, but the sound would be muffled. That's definitely not an
option, and I can't imagine why anyone would want to have muffled and garbled
speakers in their home.
So I guess I am going to have to teach the cats to stop scratching at the
speaker covers. I won't get new ones until they have learned, or I will just
have to go out and replace them all over again. I guess I am going to have
to get out the squirt bottle and keep an eye on them all day, though I really
don't have time for that. They seem to prefer the carpet to the speaker covers,
but that just means I have a torn up carpet. I guess I just have to give
up a little time to the cause and get them to use the scratching post, somehow.
I understand that they need to scratch, but I also understand that in appropriate
scratching is costing me money and time.
